During this trip, a tweak to the receive path was performed based on a proposal from Ray Greenwald. This tweak involved further up-converting the combined, un-beam-formed received signal up away from the HF spectrum. Previously, the signal at this point would have been down-converted back to the original HF frequencies and then passed to the receiver front end. In order to perform the further up-conversion process that Ray proposed, an HF signal needed to be generated that was the same frequency at the transmitted HF signal. The details of this tweak and other parts of the trip can be found in the Radar Logs section on the login website.
