The school brings in about 20 student/faculty pairs to carry out a program of study and experiments relating to the theme of the school. We divide the time between lectures, field trips, and experiments. Each student is responsible for planning and carrying out an experiment using the variety of facilities available in Alaska. Admission to the school is based upon the experiment proposal the students submit with their applications. All costs for the participants will be paid for by the Geophysical Institute with funds from the Air Force Research Lab, the Office of Naval Research, and the National Science Foundation.

The deadline for applications is June 15, 2012. Information about the school can be found at http://www.gi.alaska.edu/PARS/(external link), or by contacting Ms. Stevie Seibert at .
